Visit Brainerd had several concerns about their website that lead to wanting to move and redesign while reducing the cost of hosting and maintenance. As a non-profit, running their website had become an unnecessarily burdensome expense. Their site had been built on a proprietary system that had expensive monthly fees. Their second concern was with mobile compatibility.
We designed the homepage to feature great photography and a simple layout to help direct users to content they are interested in. We did a site audit to determine improvements to the site hierarchy and content structure, and built out the extensive business directory. We were able to leverage Brainerd’s many photo and video assets to highlight the many things to see and do in the Brainerd area, events, seasonal activities, and more. We were able to export and import their content into a brand new WordPress site with lowered recurring fees and improved mobile-friendliness. We created topical landing pages for the major categories, and included supporting content like photo galleries, and an event calendar.
